Oral Interpretation
Do you have a Japanese counterpart coming to town and need help communicating? As with written translation, communication through oral interpretation must not only reflect the meaning and intent of what is said in each language, but also convey as much of the original nuance as possible. This is especially important in business meetings, where details and timing are important.
On-site or via teleconference
Pacific Dreams offers oral interpretation, both on-site and over teleconference. Our experienced interpreters are proficient in both English and Japanese and are familiar with the business customs of both cultures.
Consecutive or simultaneous
In addition to providing on-site and teleconference interpretation, Pacific Dreams offers either consecutive interpretation or simultaneous interpretation. With consecutive interpretation, the interpreter waits until the speaker pauses after finishing a statement, and then interprets what the speaker said. In simultaneous interpretation, the speaker continuously talks while the interpreter both listens and interprets what is being said.
Consecutive interpretation tends to be more accurate and less difficult than simultaneous interpretation, and thus it is charged at a lower rate. We offer highly competitive rates. Oral interpretation is charged on an hourly basis and includes travel and other related expenses.
Cultural Liasons
Sometimes, your Japanese counterparts speak English well enough to get by, and only a cultural liaison is needed to sit in on a meeting and take notes for the Japanese attendees to make sure they receive all of the information from the meeting in a manner they can assimilate later. If this is all that is required, or if you're meeting with Japanese business persons for the first time and would like some tips on the Dos and Don'ts of Japanese business culture, we can help.
Interpeters in Japan
In addition to providing interpretation in the U.S., we offer interpretation for trips to Japan. Whether for a tradeshow, conference, important business meeting, or presentation, we can help.
